Congratulations to LeBron James on winning his third MVP award. Now go win a title.
Seriously.
Neither of us is getting any younger.
As avid readers of this site are aware, I cast my MVP vote for Chris Paul of the Los Angeles Clippers, for reasons stated in this column. Five other voters agreed with me from a cast of 121 voters — sportswriters and broadcasters throughout the United States and Canada, as well as an NBA.com MVP fan vote.
James collected 85 first-place votes. Kevin Durant was 2nd in the voting with 22 first-place votes, Paul was third, Kobe Bryant was fourth (with two first-place votes) and Tony Parker was fifth with four first-place votes.
Here are the complete voting totals:

Brian O says
Can you explain why Rose (5pts) is ahead of Wade (6pts)?
Dallas says
Seriously, what so called professional NBA journalist gave LeBron a fifth place?
Not even close to being a Heat lover, but respect for what he did this year, and maybe i can see someone voting Paul or Durant but LeBron as not even the third best is ridiculous.
And that just busted my cherry as the first time i have backed LeBron on line….
crbballer says
cause most people in florida voted for lebron, not wade, if lebron was in cleveland than wade would be top 5,
