Tweet of the Night goes to Chris Paul, who congratulated a friend in Deron Williams along with soon-to-be former teammate Reggie Evans, who received plenty of exposure as an impact player during the playoffs, for their agreed plan to sign with the Brooklyn Nets on Tuesday. The gamble of trading for Williams has truly paid off for the Nets, and the new CBA certainly appears to be a success in this particular case. You can check the details of their signing in our news item.
It will be good for Paul that Williams – a regular nemesis of Paul as a Jazz member – will now stay on the East Coast, because his track record against Williams is not so good. Still, Paul helped transform the Clippers – a laughingstock of a franchise – into a formidable one this past season. Most recognized Williams as a rental for the Nets, but now that he is the face of the franchise, perhaps it’s time for him to follow the footsteps of Paul and hopefully help carry his team out of an ugly, ugly funk.
