Most of our readers are Americans, being that we’re based in the States and all, although I see our analytics and know that we get hits from as far away as Brunei very day.
So I have a question for my fellow Americans, especially the ones who dislike the Miami Heat and their best player: How do y’all plan to root for Team USA at the Olympics if your least favorite player is a member of the national team? Isn’t that somewhat counterintuitive? Do you root for the U.S. to win but for LeBron to embarrass himself? If it comes down to one last possession in one of the games, do you root for someone else to take the final shot?
Answers in the comments section, please.

You should be asking the Brits this question, every year all the non-Chelsea fans have to ask themselves if they can cheer a national team with John Terry in it, non-Man U fans have to ask themselves if they can feel good about cheering for Wayne Rooney to score, etc etc. They have to handle this more than once every 2 or 4 years!
If any Team USA game comes down to taking a last shot for the win, something has gone horribly wrong anyway. But if it does, Durant is the best outside shooter in the team (sorry Kobe, being a volume shooter of last shots doesn’t make you a higher percentage shooter than KD) and it should be Durant. LBJ has always been about making the best basketball play, can’t see him demanding to take a jumpshot ahead of KD…

Elite Melo. Ha.. Elite, Melo?

No way LeBron gets the last shot on a team with elite closers Kobe, Durant, and Melo.
