Tweet of the Day went to Isiah Thomas, who showed appreciation for the level of confidence shown by Kobe Bryant and LeBron James in regards to the strength of the current USA Team.
To elaborate, James decided to defend his Olympics teammate Kobe Bryant in a recent interview with ABC in regards to how the 2012 USA team would fair against the 1992 Dream Team in the video below:
“We understand what they did for our game,” James said. “But we also are big time competitors as well, so if we had the opportunity to play them in a game, we feel like we would win too.”
What else can he say? At this point, it’s safe to assume that no current Team USA member would admit that they would lose to the Dream Team, even if they privately believed in it. There is no reason for today’s best players and most fierce competitors to admit defeat in a “what if” scenario, no matter how right or wrong they may be.
