Tweet of the Day went to former NBA player and current Utah Jazz analyst Matt Harpring, who wasn’t thrilled to see his team shut out from being televised on TNT for the upcoming season.
It is a bit of a surprising omission, given the fact that the Jazz surprisingly made the playoffs in the ultra-competitive Western Conference last season, edging out the Houston Rockets by two games. Although they were overwhelmed by a more experienced Spurs team in the first round, it was a huge step in the right direction for a team that was supposed to go into rebuilding mode.
During the offseason, the team acquired point guard Mo Williams to pair with Devin Harris and moved Devin Harris, who struggled in his short stint with the team. With the continued improvement of Gordon Hayward and the resurgence of Al Jefferson, it will be interesting to see if the Jazz can build on their effort from last season to make the playoffs again for the upcoming season.

Agreed. The Jazz surprised many last year and could easily do the same this year. By the way, Mo Williams essentially replaced Devin Harris; they won’t be paired together since Devin was shipped to Atlanta in the Marvin Williams trade.

Will they? will they really?…. I don’t mean to be a buzz kill but let’s face it at best they’re a 7th seed. They are most certainly going to be behind the Thunder; Lakers; Clippers and Spurs, will more than likely be behind the Nuggets and Grizzlies. Which means they will be battling it out for the 7th or 8th seed against Dallas; Minnesota; Golden State; and to some degree Portland. The additions of Mo and Marvin Williams were great moves by the Jazz, but i just don’t see that being enough to get them anything better than as i said, 7th or 8th in the Western Conference.

Thanks for the correction and sorry for the error. A lot has happened over the summer and the Devin Harris trade escaped my memory.

I guess you missed that Devin Harris got traded to Atlanta, eh?
