Tweet of the Night goes to Eric Gordon, who appears to be giddy for the start of next season.
Gordon went through some turmoil over the summer, as he openly expressed strong desire to leave the New Orleans Hornets for the Phoenix Suns as a restricted free agent. That, of course, did not happen as the Hornets matched the Suns’ four-year, $58-million max offer to keep the malcontent shooting guard.
Perhaps Gordon wanted to be “the main guy” with the Suns rather than be shadowed by Anthony Davis – the first overall pick in the draft – in New Orleans. Gordon also previously expressed that he felt unwanted by the team.
In any case, he has good reason to be excited. The Hornets are a defensive-minded team under coach Monty Williams, and a core of Gordon, Davis and Austin Rivers look to be an intriguing group of talent, even if they have to work through some inevitable growing pains.

Eric Gordon and Anthoy Davis are going to be the best pick and roll duo in the NBA for years to come. Add Ryan Anderson, Austin Rivers, Robin Lopez, Jason Smith, Aminu, Vasquez, Warrick, and Henry, and the Hornets are a much improved team from last season.
