“To those whom much is given, much is expected.” ― John F. Kennedy
Washington Wizards rookie shooting guard Bradley Beal is quickly putting this into practice, getting involved in charitable work early in his career.
The Washington Wizards along with the WNBA Mystics have partnered with local news station NBC4 for the Food 4 Families food drive in the Washington D.C. area for the past few years.
This wasn’t Beal’s first foray into charitable work. Back in October, he and point guard John Wall were among a handful of players who served military service men and women as waiters—complete with bow ties—for a charity event at a local D.C. steakhouse.
Beal isn’t alone is helping out with Thanksgiving charity.
Memphis Grizzlies power forward Zach Randolph was busy with his annual Thanksgiving charity work.
The NBA and its athletes are very active in the community—not just as a part of the NBA Cares movement, but often out the good will of their hearts and the generosity of their pockets.
Here is a list of some of the charitable works that NBA teams are participating in this Thanksgiving season.
Don’t let all of the generosity that is going around stop with just athletes and celebrities. Consider what blessings you may have in your life and take the opportunity to pay it forward.
We can all make a significant impact on the world around us simply by giving to others.
