For football fans, the term Super Sunday is a familiar one. Super Sunday is the day on which the Super Bowl is held.
Of course, you’ve probably heard all about the Super Bowl already: the Ravens winning 34-31 over the 49ers, the 34-minute blackout in the Superdome and the Pepsi-sponsored Beyoncé halftime show.
What you wouldn’t have heard about would be the festivities that happened at random Super Bowl parties around the globe.
Philadelphia 76ers center Spencer Hawes tweeted a link to an article detailing one local party worth hearing about.

Basically, what it all boils down to is this, if you don’t want to watch Beyoncé and Destiny’s Child dance around on television for 15 minutes, you can shell out $3,250 to watch Japanese competitive eating legend Takeru Kobayashi down a pizza in one minute.
Kobayashi might be the only eater to have ever been portrayed in pop culture as a super hero.
Such portrayals can only begin to explain his worldwide popularity.
You may not have had Kobayashi at your party, but (hopefully) you enjoyed your Super Sunday.

Please. Kobayashi is yesterday’s news. For years, the dude avoids Joey Chestnut like Bernie Kosar avoids Alcoholics Anonymous. Kobayashi is washed up and has to scrounge for scraps in the Euroleague of competitive eating.
