In an NBA season where few things are for certain (just ask the Lakers), there is one player that has been: LeBron James.
James and his Miami Heat captured their 20th consecutive victory Wednesday night with a 98-94 victory in Philadelphia. They are the fourth team in NBA history to win at least 20 games in a row. The other three teams were: the 1971-72 Los Angeles Lakers (33), the 2007-08 Houston Rockets(22) and the 1970-71 Milwaukee Bucks (20).
LeBron — a three-time MVP already — is closing in on his fourth MVP award in the last five years and is running away from the field in the process.
He is averaging a ridiculous 26.5 points, 7.1 assists and 8.1 rebounds per game, good for a league-leading PER of 31.01. He is leading his team in points, rebounds and assists, not to mention playing every position when his coach, Eric Spoelstra, needs him to.
In this wild, unpredictable NBA season, LeBron James is focused.
And is most certainly leaving his mark.
