Fanatics can really go far and beyond sometimes to show their love for something or someone during live events. The consequences of their actions usually don’t turn out so great for most, as the law has a way of taking care of those that interrupt these events.
That was the case on Wednesday night during the contest between the Miami Heat and Cleveland Cavaliers, when a fan senselessly rushed the court during live play:
It may seem like just another act of a nut job gone wild, but what this fan did was actually premeditated, from Deadspin:
Visiting his former team in Cleveland on Wednesday, when a fan ran onto the court while the Heat were taking on the Cavaliers, it was probably easy for LeBron James to assume the worst. Nonetheless, the fan appeared to be a fan of King James (His shirt appeared to read “We miss you.”), security quickly subdued him, and that was that.
In many ways, it wasn’t any different than the plethora of crazy fans who decide to interrupt their favorite sporting event. However, this one has at least one different: It was well-documented on social media.
Deadspin initially identified the Twitter account of a man purporting to be one James Blair, who appears to be the man who ran onto the court of Quicken Loans Arena. Blair identifies himself on his profile as the “Biggest @KingJames fan ever!!!” and, moreover, the account indicates that the crime was very much premeditated — and that Blair has since been released from confinement.
You have to hand it to the guy for having the stones to go through with his plan.
Again, nothing good usually comes to people that do stuff of this manner, but make James Blair an exception. For showing LeBron James so much love in such a risky fashion, Blair received a pat from the Superstar as he was being subdued on Wednesday. It was a nice gesture by the forward, who understands just how much of an icon he is to so many.
It didn’t end there, though, as Blair revealed himself to LeBron on twitter:
