Saturday played host to the Final Four and NBA players were spectators just like everyone else.
The ninth seeded Wichita State Shockers played against the number one overall seed Louisville Cardinals in the early game.
While the Shockers had the attention of the nation with their improbable Cinderella run, their play made an impression with many in the league.
Dallas Mavericks star forward Dirk Nowitzki had his eye on the game.
Dirk’s teammate, guard Anthony Morrow, shared his respects for the Shockers but took it a step further.
The game ended with the Shockers losing after a controversial jump ball call allowed the Cardinals, who were already up by three at that point, to seal the game with an additional free throw.
A handful of players voiced their opinions about the call.
Perhaps the outcry will be loud enough to force the NCAA to consider a rules change? Perhaps not.
One can only hope.
