With the NBA season winding down to its final few games, we’re starting to see a clear picture of who will win their divisions (if they haven’t already) and who will or won’t make the playoffs. Lets look over what happened on Tuesday:
Houston Rockets:
Even with the shocking acquisition of James Harden right before the start of the season, many wondered if the unproven mixture of talent on the Houston Rockets roster – like Jeremy Lin, Omer Asik and Chandler Parsons – would be good enough to be a playoff team in the tough Western Conference. With a wild victory over the Phoenix Suns, all questions were put to rest:
The Rockets will enter the postseason for the first time since the 2008-2009 season.
Golden State Warriors:
For the Golden State Warriors, who haven’t seen the playoffs since the 2006-2007 “We Believe” season, it was mostly a matter of when they’d clinch, not if.
After failing to clinch on Sunday against the Utah Jazz at home, they left no doubt on Tuesday’s game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, behind 24 points and 10 assists from Stephen Curry and 30 points from Klay Thompson.
