Some would say the Golden State Warriors are giving up a lot — three players, two unprotected first-round draft picks, and two second round draft picks — in the deal with Utah that created the cap space for them to sign free agent Andre Iguodala.
A would agree to a point — yes, they are giving up a lot. A lot of garbage.
The Iguodala acquisition will give the Warriors something every true title-contending team needs — a defensive stopper. What Iguodala brings to the equation will not be quantifiable in the box score — unless you look at the numbers of the player on the opposing team who Iguodala defended.
Iguodala brings other intangibles to the Warriors, not the least of which is another intelligent voice in a locker room full of high IQ players including Stephen Curry, Andrew Bogut and David Lee. These guys are like the MENSA Dream Team.
But the addition of Iguodala also means that Harrison Barnes is going to move into a Sixth Man role, and it will be Mark Jackson’s job to get the second-year forward to embrace a role he has never played in his prep, college or pro career. Can Jackson do that?
My answer to that question, and to a bunch of other questions pertaining to the ‘Dubs, are revealed in this podcast with Sean O’Connell and Matt Steinmetz on 95.7 The Game in San Francisco.

Next time I read a blog, I hope that it doesnt disappoint me around this one. What i’m saying is, I know it ended up being my choice to read, but I actually thought youd get something interesting to say. Just about all I listen to is a couple of whining with regards to something that you may fix in case you werent as well busy looking for attention.
