When Kobe Bryant learned that Dwight Howard made the decision to bolt to the Houston Rockets last Friday, his only reaction on twitter was this: Unfollow his former superstar center.
Then came more news about the Los Angeles Lakers on Monday, when Kevin Ding of The O.C. Register reported that the team would use the amnesty provision on forward Metta World Peace. Perhaps just as importantly, the Lakers also agreed to sign center Chris Kaman to a one-year contract.
With so many changes happening so quickly before his eyes, Bryant finally decided to break the silence on what his team has been up to lately on twitter:
No game 7 win without Metta! This is a tough day for laker nation #misspeace #newcbacasualty

I wish d12 the best honestly. I just find it hard to follow players that wanna kick my teams ass #thatsjustme — Kobe Bryant (@kobebryant) July 9, 2013
Kaman is a great addition. Great skill set and a competitor. — Kobe Bryant (@kobebryant) July 9, 2013
Personally I’d keep Metta and make a run with the unit we have and just add a few pieces #keepthepeace #lakersstilldeciding — Kobe Bryant (@kobebryant) July 9, 2013
Here is how World Peace reacted to Ding’s news, in a very World Peace kind of way:
Breaking news !!! Guess what !! I am so sad to announce that I …….. — Metta World Peace (@MettaWorldPeace) July 9, 2013
Ok. My breaking news is my oranges that I love will not be on sale at whole foods. Worst day ever!!

And here is Kaman’s reaction to joining his newest team, as one entertaining tweeter replaces another:
It’s true, I am going to be going back to LA and it’s to play for the Lakers! I am excited about this move and can’t wait to play! #Lakers

It was a blessing being able to talk to several teams, but made my decision based on choosing a great franchise and a great fit, over money — Chris Kaman (@ChrisKaman) July 9, 2013
