The Basketball World Cup (formerly known as the World Championship) will be held next summer in Spain, and the U.S. will be sending a team.
Who will be on it?
Who knows?
We’ll have more on that in the upcoming days. As it is 30, elite basketball players (all listed below) will spend the next five days in a Las Vegas training facility with Team USA in a minicamp.
Some of the NBA’s brightest young players are in attendance, hoping to show coaching staff that they have what it takes to play on the national stage.
The majority of players arrived in the Las Vegas heat Sunday morning, many took to Twitter sharing the exciting news.
Just landed in Vegas for @usabasketball. Excited to play with the best!

Milwaukee Bucks center Larry Sanders seemed extra grateful for the opportunity to play for his country. Along with his tweet, he Instagramed a picture of his Team USA jersey.
Every player is competing for an opportunity to play in the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup and possibly the 2016 Summer Olympics in Brazil along with other top American players who already have their foot in the door.
