Just because there has been a dry spell of inactivity as far as news is concerned, that does not mean NBA players haven’t been finding ways to stay active.
Clippers forward Matt Barnes, in conjunction with Snoop Dogg (Lion?), hosted his annual Athletes vs. Cancer flag football game on Sunday. Barnes started the foundation in 2007 after his mother passed away just 26 days after being diagnosed with cancer.
Here is Barnes himself on why he fights cancer:
As described by ballislife.com, the goals of Athletes vs. Cancer are to help secure mobile cancer screening vans that will visit as many low-income neighborhoods as possible and give free resource support and education, create awareness of the disease, provide screening opportunities and provide support to cancer patients.
Barnes, who had a career year with the Clippers last season, was able to enlist the help of several other NBA players to participate in this event.
