Are you an old-ass man when you are 35?
Ask anyone who is 25 and under, and the answer would probably be yes. I’ve worked recently with several men who are under the age of 25, and they are quite the generation. They have been raised on the Internet, they are far more proficient with social media, online tricks and smartphone utilization than the generation that grew up a decade before them, and they text rather than talk to an extreme degree.
I call then “phone haters.”
As the Baby Boomers reach retirement age and bleed our country dry after making the rest of us endure five decades of their collective narcissism, we have gone through Gen X, Gen Y and a couple other generations whose nicknames escape me.
How about this: Anyone who was born after November, 1996, is older than Kobe Bryant. (Are some of you feeling old?)
Whatever the case, 35 is the age at which Michael Jordan won his sixth championship retired from basketball, only to return three seasons later with the Washington Wizards. He never got his seventh.
Will Kobe do it (a sixth title) at he’s pushing 40? (I have always said: I’d never bet against him. I used to say the same thing about Jordan.)
Bryant certainly isn’t going to get his sixth title this season, and the Spanish fellow who earned Tweet of the Night may not be around as his teammate for the entire 2013-14 season. It says here in our August Power Rankings (check out where the Lakers are ranked) that the Chicago Bulls should be considered the favorites to acquire him by the trade deadline.
Hey, when you are rebuilding and you have a player of Gasol’s caliber on your team, and he is in the final year of his contract, you get what you can for him while you still can. After after February, the Lakers can’t get anything for Gasol unless it is through a sign-and-trade over the summer.
So with that long, intro out of the way, here is Pau’s Tweet of the Night. (We offer our own birthday wishes).

Below the Tweet, you can vote on whether the Lakers will trade Gasol before next February’s deadline.
