Caron Butler could not have been a happy camper when he learned that he and Eric Bledsoe were traded by the Los Angeles Clippers to the Phoenix Suns back in early July. At the age of 33, the forward was likely less than interested in playing for a rebuilding team.
Perhaps Butler had a word with the Suns organization about being moved to a better situation, because that’s precisely what they’ve been trying to do, according to Gery Woelfel of Racine Journal Times:
Caron Butler has periodically dreamed about some day playing for the Milwaukee Bucks.
That’s certainly understandable, considering Butler was born and raised in Racine and followed the fortunes of the Bucks ever since he was a child.
Now, 33 years old and having played 11 years in the National Basketball Association, Butler’s dream may finally come true.
According to multiple sources, the Bucks and Phoenix Suns are seriously engaged in trade negotiations that would bring Butler to the Bucks.
Although exact details of the potential trade aren’t known, Butler, the former Park High School standout, would be the central figure in the deal that could be culminated as soon as today.
Like the Suns, the Bucks are not a team in line to contend for a championship any time soon. They are, however, the home team for Butler, as Woelfel mentioned, and that may be enough to satisfy the forward. Here is what he had to say about the situation:
Much respect for the organization of the Phx Suns#staytuned

It appears Butler has been provided with news that has yet to be officially broken, but all signs point to him joining the Bucks to begin the start of the upcoming season.
Update: According to Paul Coro of The Arizona Republic, a trade to the Bucks will be finalized by Thursday:
A #Suns trade of Caron Butler to the Bucks for Ish Smith & Slava Kravtsov (no pick) should be finalized Thursday. Suns add $5.65M cap space.
