Floyd Mayweather was the highlight of an exciting day of sports yesterday. In an anticipated match against Canelo Alvarez which guaranteed Mayweather $41.5 million, the champ remained undefeated improving his record to a flawless 45-0.
Last night’s fight was expected to break all previous boxing records across TV sets in America. In 2007, his fight against Oscar De La Hoya attracted 2.5 million customers and an all-time high $132 million in pay-per-view revenue.
Although an entertaining battle, Mayweather proved too strong for his opponent, connecting on 232 of 505 punches. Alvarez was limited to succeeding on just 117 of 526 punches.
In wake of the historic fight, athletes across the globe were chiming in the morning after.
Knicks star Carmelo Anthony took to Twitter earlier today praising Mayweather for his efforts.

Several players were at the fight last night, but it definitely felt like more looking through the Twitter timeline.
Basically, half the NBA players are at the fight, the other are at LeBron’s wedding, and Matt Barnes is barbecuing.

Players who weren’t fortunate enough to be at the fight, took to Twitter during the event.
