ESPN has started its annual rankings of every single player in the NBA, starting from No. 500 and all the way down to No. 1. While some will be grateful and humbled by their placement, others will be less than pleased with the results – no one wants to be listed or recognized as a non-influential player, and no one wants to be underrated.
Royce White, who has mostly been in the headlines for non-basketball related issues over the past year, turned out to be No.500. He has yet to log a single minute in an official NBA game and was traded to the Philadelphia 76ers after his tumultuous rookie season with the Houston Rockets. After seeing his name at the bottom of the list, White had the following to say to ESPN:
S/O to @ESPN… you guys have put together a well thought out, logical list. I can only hope to improve upon my standing with you. #BeWell

Clearly, the message is filled with sarcasm. He refers to the list as “logical” and “well thought out”, knowing that there is not a single explanation as to why the players are ranked where they are. He then referred to a SLAMonline article to show that he can still make a positive contribution as a player, no matter the ranks.
Even the WORST @NBA player can make a HUGE impact… and it’s early yet. 😉 @ESPN @SLAMonline http://t.co/7M4ROr1fv8 #Winning #BeWell

The article is about the mental health center he opened in Houston, which is helpful and admirable on his part to society, but should have no effect on where he’s ranked as a basketball player. Regardless, the whole thing may ultimately serve as a motivation for him to make an impact on the court for his new team in the upcoming season.
I’m having such a great time right now… setting goals, pursuing them, staying positive & having fun with it all. Life’s awesome! #Rushin

All Royce has to do is take his medication(s).
But he won’t.
Nor will he acknowledge that medications could be helpful for his Panic / Obsessive Compulsive Disorders.
But then Royce is old and experienced enough to know better than everyone else (sarcasm).

Jerry,
I can hardly contain my unbridled excitement now that he is on my favorite team. We need 14 more just like him. Last year was just a ploy because he didn’t want to bring donuts to practice and wear a Hello Kitty backpack. He’s a serious individual who had to uphold his image of being smarter than all of us. (lots more sarcasm).
BTW, Rockets are paying his salary, which tells you how badly Morey wanted him out of there. And I will be stunned if Hinkie picks up his third year option, which is pretty much standard with all first round picks but not this clown.
