Houston Rockets stars Dwight Howard and Chandler Parsons made waves Thursday, when they attended a high school football game in Texas at the prompting of one of its players on Twitter.
It seems that attending high school football games is becoming even more popular.
Golden State Warriors center Marreese Speights asked fans what team he should go watch.
I wanna go watch a high school football game!!! Who the best school in the bay to watch ???

Meanwhile, back in Texas…
Dallas Mavericks forward Shawn Marion ventured out Friday night to Allen, Texas to see the Allen Eagles play against the Coppell Cowboys.

While on the field, Marion took time to hang out with the marching band.
With over 850 members, the Allen Eagle Escadrille, the school’s marching band, really is the largest.

However, Friday night in Texas is all about high school football, not the bands, and Allen boasts one of the top teams in the nation. They are currently second in the national prep rankings.
The Allen Eagles got out to a fast start, jumping ahead of the Cowboys 17-0 after one quarter of play.
The Eagles would go on to win 31-10.
After the game was over, Marion took in the splendor that is the Allen Eagles football stadium—the much ballyhooed 18,000 seat, $60 million high school stadium.
Eagle Stadium is a sight to behold (aerial view pictured below).
With as popular as high school football is, especially with shows like Friday Night Lights and movies such as Remember the Titans, it is no wonder that NBA players are drawn to its glorious spectacle.
