Nuggets coach Brian Shaw has no regrets about not landing Lakers job

It was only a matter of time until Brian Shaw landed a head coach position in the NBA. After the Indiana Pacers made it to the Eastern Conference Finals with Shaw mentoring the players as an assistant coach, the rest of the league picked up on his ability to lead a team. In an interview with Christopher Dempsey of The Denver Post, The Denver Nuggets’ coach said he has no regrets about not landing the Los Angeles Lakers’ coaching job two years ago when Phil Jackson retired. “You know, it’s the nature of the business. I found that out pretty quickly. I preach to our players to get on to the next play; let that last play go, and I try to do the same thing, too. Every decision is not my decision. It’s not going to work out the way I want it to work out. So I’ve just got to move on.” The Nuggets will play the Lakers on Sunday in Los Angeles in preseason action.
