After a brutal 105-73 preseason loss to the New Orleans Pelicans at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum in Biloxi, MS, Atlanta Hawks’ star Al Horford hasn’t shown any signs of quitting on his team.
Although the Hawks are one of the league’s least talked about teams, Horford has always been fond of the roster that surrounds him.
In a Q&A with Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Horford isn’t shying away from talking about success. “I’m looking forward to getting everyone together and start working. I see myself as a very important piece to the team and I look to be the best that I can and at the same time it’s all about us gelling and building that chemistry as a team and that is going to determine how successful we are.”
ATL lost its starting power forward Josh Smith to the Detroit Pistons this offseason and were forced to bring in more help.
Paul Millsap highlights a quiet summer of successful additions for the Hawks, after failing to make any big moves, it’s likely Atlanta will fall around the bottom of the East playoff picture or possibly out entirely.
The Hawks have struggled this preseason with two losses and one win, but Atlanta’s leader is looking forward.
Tough loss. We have work ahead of us. Let’s keep getting better as a team. Go Hawks!
