Cavs exercise four player options

The Cleveland Cavaliers have exercised the fourth-year options on guard Kyrie Irving and forward Tristan Thompson, as well as the third-year options on guard Dion Waiters and center Tyler Zeller, reports InsideHoops.com. The announcement was expected as these four players are likely to become the future of the franchise. Combined, they scored about 57 of the 96.5 points the Cavs averaged per game last season.
Nowitzki told Cuban the Mavs had problems last year

The Dallas Mavericks were in turmoil last year, after winning a title just two years before, pressure to stay at that level may have gotten to the former champions. Longtime Mavs’ forward Dirk Nowitzki warned owner Mark Cuban the team had big problems before last season began. “‘Dirk came up to me and said’, We can’t pass, and we can’t shoot. Our guards aren’t there,” reveals Cuban. “This is the preseason, and I was like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ and he’s like, ‘Sorry, bro.’” Nowitzki’s comments coming after the Mavs worked to sign Darren Collison in the offseason. Cuban was shocked with Nowitzki’s opinion but admits he was right. Cuban and his management team have done a good job of adding new talent to the backcourt this season. With the additions of Monta Ellis and Jose Calderon, the team could have a rejuvenated life. This year the owner said there’s a different vibe. “You talk to Dirk, and he just smiles and shakes his head. And when you get that out of Dirk, that shows that I think he’s fired up, he’s ready.”
