Spurs unveil new military-inspired uniform
Posted at 01:26 PM ET
The San Antonio Spurs will wear a new military-inspired uniform in honor of the servicemen and women of the Armed Forces, the team announced Thursday. The Spurs will debut the new uniforms when they host the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, Nov. 13. The Spurs created the camouflage-patterned uniforms to honor and showcase San Antonio, commonly nicknamed “Military City U.S.A.” The military uniforms are part of the adidas and NBA Pride Uniform Collection, inspired by each team’s core identity, history and/or region. “Playing in San Antonio, we’re constantly reminded of the selflessness and courage of those that serve,” said Spurs guard Danny Green. “We owe them a debt of gratitude and it is an honor to recognize and show support to all active and retired military members.”
Rondo in no hurry to return
Posted at 12:00 AM ET
Rajon Rondo said he’ll be returning this season, but the Boston Celtics All-Star point guard who is recovering from knee surgery said he doesn’t know when exactly, reports Baxter Holmes of the Boston Globe. “Whenever I’m able to jump off my right leg and probably dunk, that’s when I think I’ll be back to play.” Rondo tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee in January and had surgery the next month. He said his right leg is at about 87 percent, “give or take, depending on how my day goes.” But Rondo, as he has said before, reiterated that he wants to be his old self when he returns. Rondo continues his rehabilitation and will work himself back into game shape. “Everybody is different, each injury is different… For me, when I come back, I won’t come back unless I know I’m myself again.”
Jazz looking at bringing back Jamaal Tinsley
Posted at 12:17 AM ET
The Utah Jazz are highly interested in bringing back point guard Jamaal Tinsley in wake of Trey Burke’s injury, reports Marc Stein of ESPN. One insider tells Stein it’s “only a matter of time” until a deal gets done. Tinsley spent the last two seasons with Utah but is now a free agent. The Jazz are without Burke, the ninth overall selection in this year’s draft, for about 4-6 weeks after breaking his right hand earlier in the month.
Trivia Answer: The Washington Wizards took Kwame Brown first overall in 2001.
