Tuesday night, in a 102-97 loss to the Charlotte Bobcats, New York Knicks center Tyson Chandler left the court in the first quarter with what was thought to be a right knee injury.
Now, we know that Chandler will miss 4-6 weeks with what has been diagnosed as a non-displaced fracture to his right fibula.

The loss could be critical for the Knicks, who have struggled to find good chemistry off to a 1-3 start to the season. Without him, New York will not have a defensive anchor in the post and may resort to an unorthodox form of small ball — possibly playing Andrea Bargnani at center.
Bargnani, who is technically a big man, plays more of a perimeter style game.
The loss of a big man resonates, not just with the city of New York, but also with Indiana Pacers center Roy Hibbert.
Just read that @tysonchandler is out 4 to 6 with a knee injury. Hate 2c a BIG go down w/ an injury. Hoping 4 a speedy recovery.

It’s truly nice to see that, while competitive, Hibbert still cares about the well-being of other players in the league — even his opponents.
To borrow a phrase from Ron Burgundy, “Stay classy, Roy Hibbert.”
