Quincy is not the most common name among men in America.
It actually ranks 633rd among male names in the U.S.. The most popular Quincy in American history is President John Quincy Adams, the sixth president in our nation’s history.
There aren’t many men in the NBA that bear the name Quincy—only three, to be exact.
Two of the three are actually in the NBA news this week.
We’ll begin with the sad news.
Memphis Grizzlies forward Quincy Pondexter (pictured above) confirmed to fans on Twitter that he will be missing the remainder of the season after having suffered a stress fracture in his right foot during Saturday’s loss to the Golden State Warriors.
Sad to tweet but the news is true. Still can’t believe it myself. But I GUARANTEE l will be back next season BETTER THAN EVER!! Joshua 1:9

The news of Pondexter’s injury comes on the heels of the Grizzlies having indefinitely lost star center Marc Gasol due to a sprained medial collateral ligament in his left knee.
On the flip-side of things, forward Quincy Acy is relocating to Northern California with Toronto Raptors teammates Rudy Gay and Aaron Gray.
All three players were recently traded to the Sacramento Kings for John Salmons, Greivis Vasquez, Patrick Patterson and Chuck Hayes.
The trade, which was big news over the weekend, became official Monday afternoon.

While it is unlikely that Gay, Acy and Gray will suit up for Sacramento Monday night against the Dallas Mavericks, the Kings hope that move will pay off offensively.
So it is, that in one day one Quincy begins healing while another has a new beginning.
