Missing two key players in the starting lineup in Nene Hilario and Martell Webster on Monday, John Wall needed to come up big for the Washington Wizards against the Denver Nuggets, who were also playing without Ty Lawson.
Wall led all scorers with 20 points and stuffed the stat sheet with five rebounds, eight assists, three steals and one impressive block on Kenneth Faried. However, he managed to shoot just eight-of-20 from the field and turned the ball over four times. With less than a minute to go in the contest, he missed a key layup and couldn’t even get a final shot off after turning the ball over to Nate Robinson. After the 75-74 loss, Wall told reporters that he was fouled by Robinson when the turnover occurred.
Since claiming himself as the best point guard in the entire league, Wall has shot 40 percent or worse from the field in five of his last six games. The team has gone just 3-3 during that span and now stands as the second worst team in the Southeast division.
Here is the guard’s reaction to his poor performance after the game:
I gotta do better at end of games and make big plays….#wizplayoffs !!

The good news is that the Wizards are still the 7th best team in the East and in position to make the playoffs as of now.
