Jeff Teague was a hero for the Atlanta Hawks on Thursday against the Cleveland Cavaliers. With the game tied at 125 apiece in double overtime, the point guard ran down the clock, froze his defender with a step-back move, and drained the game-winning jump shot at the buzzer. It took about five bounces on the rim, but it did eventually fall through.
He did, however, briefly suffer an embarrassing moment late in the game.
During the second overtime, Kyrie Irving went up the court and quickly changed direction on a behind-the-back dribble move. The result was a spill to the floor for Teague:
The play ultimately failed to produce a basket for the Cavaliers, but you take notice any time a player gets crossed badly enough to fall down. After the contest, Teague joked about the incident:
So my ankles are ok just to let you guys know #crossedme

It’s always great when a player can laugh or joke about himself in the manner that Teague has. He may have become another victim to Irving’s wizardry (and certainly won’t be the last), but took it and responded to it quite well. It helps that overall, Teague had a monster night with 34 points, 14 assists and three steals.
