Fans cheer for the NBA and its players for various reasons. Some cheer simply for the love of the game. Others cheer for their favorite players and teams.
Then, there are those that have bigger stakes in the games. Take this guy @lorneculp on twitter, for example, who felt beyond angry with Phoenix Suns guard Eric Bledsoe for sitting out Friday’s contest against the Memphis Grizzlies without a notice:
You sorry candy ass piece of shit!!!! Next time you are not going to play post an update… You cost me thousands!
That’s what he had to say to Bledsoe, who was a late scratch – too late for gamblers to make a last-minute change on their fantasy lineups or betting schemes – due to a minor sprained knee.
This, folks, is what happens when you gamble. Players sometimes sit out unannounced. They get injured. They have things to attend. If you put money on their performance, an unannounced DNP is catastrophic. But that’s precisely why it’s called gambling: you’re taking a chance with so many factors to consider, and it’s no one’s fault but your own if you lose.
Bledsoe saw the tweet and fired back at the devastated gambler:
I hope I coast you million RT @lorneculp: @EBled2 You sorry candy ass piece of shit!!!! Next time you are not … http://t.co/wWy0Ev9Cyi
