The Golden State Warriors have been balling out of control lately.
Winners of nine straight, the Warriors are averaging just over 105 points and 49 rebounds per contest. The last four games of that stretch—spanning from Tuesday, December 31st through Sunday, January 5th—have been a clean sweep of four Southeast divisional opponents, including a blazing 123-114 win over the two-time defending champion Miami Heat.
Helping to spearhead this phenomenal streak has been the play of nine-year veteran power forward David Lee, who was named as the Western Conference Player of the Week Monday afternoon.
Just Announced: @yungsmoove21 (25ppg, 3.67spg) of the @Sixers & @Dlee042 (24.5ppg, 10.5rpg) of the @Warriors named NBA Players of the Week.

This is the third time he has been Player of the Week with Golden State, joining Tim Hardaway, Chris Mullin and Baron Davis as only the fourth player in franchise history to have gotten the honor that many times in a Warriors uniform. A few of his teammates and his head coach took to Twitter to congratulate him.
S/O to @Dlee042 for the Player of the Week award. #surfboard

After the team arrived in Milwaukee to prepare for their Tuesday night game against the Bucks, Warriors TV caught up with David Lee to get his reaction.
It’s always fun to see teammates encourage one of their own for playing hard—especially when the fruit of their effort has been a big part of a great run, much like Golden State’s nine-game streak.
Personally, as basketball fan and purist, I look forward to seeing more of the Warriors games as they try to keep pace with the rest of the Western Conference’s top teams.
