Hours after it was reported that Mark Cuban would be receiving a fine from the NBA, the Dallas Mavericks owner took to Twitter to voice his thoughts on the matter.
Never one to bite his tongue, it shouldn’t be a surprise that Cuban chose to comment on the issue.
As he took to social media upon hearing of the $100,000 fine, Cuban hinted that this would not be the last time he would be getting penalized by NBA officials.
Just got word that I got fined 100k for speaking my mind to the officials after our game with the clippers. #moretocome

If any good comes from this, the Mavericks owner has announced that he will donate an equal amount of his $100,000 fine to a charity once he reaches two million followers on Twitter.
I will donate an equal amount to a charity. But Im going to wait till iget 2mm followers. And if you email me you are not eligible. — Mark Cuban (@mcuban) January 19, 2014
Taking the fine in good spirits, Cuban reflected on his time as an owner and past interactions with David Stern’s NBA regime. Having been fined 14 times for criticizing officials, he is certainly no stranger when it comes to dealing with league officials.
I couldnt let the commish go without a proper farewell. Its been a fun 14 years of trying to create change and donating to the donut fund ! — Mark Cuban (@mcuban) January 19, 2014
The fine in question came as a result of Cuban confronting officials following a 129-127 Dallas loss to the Los Angeles Clippers. Cuban apparently took exception to one call specifically, that being the Flagrant 1 foul called on Samuel Dalembert. That particular foul has since been downgraded to a technical.
And for those keeping score on suspension points, the F1 called on Sam Dalembert that game was downgraded to a tech.
