If you haven’t seen Lance Stephenson’s All-Star video, please take a moment to familiarize yourself with it before we begin this column.
I’ll wait.
For the rest of you—nice weather we’ve been having, right? Yeah.
So, you come here often? I hope so. We’ve got some pretty cool stuff here. It’s a nice website.
OK– you’ve seen it? So that was pretty cool, right? It reminded me of the old Michael Jordan-Mars Blackmon commercials.
And with the type of season he’s been having, Stephenson certainly deserves more recognition. He’s quietly averaging 14 points, 6 assists and 7 rebounds per game. He leads the NBA in triple-doubles (3) and has arguably been Indiana’s best perimeter defender.
After Monday’s win at Golden State, Paul George even called Stephenson “the most willing passer on the team,” which is always a compliment coming from the lead dog. Oh, and Born Ready can get buckets, too; he exploded for 28 in a wipeout of his hometown Knicks last week.
But Stephenson did such a great job of selling himself in that commercial, I feel like we don’t even need to talk about him anymore.
So how about a commercial for my main man and rankings leader Isaiah Thomas? The Kings point guard has been playing like an All-Star, too.
Hang on a second.

I want to see The Namesake in New Orleans!
What makes Isaiah Thomas one of the Most Improved Players this season?
Is it the shoes?
Is it the low center of gravity?
Is it the pizza?
It’s gotta be the pizza, right?
No, Mars.
Isaiah’s been balling like the original Isiah Thomas, or the famous original Isiah Thomas, if you know what I’m saying.
Money, it’s gotta be the pizza!!
On Sunday, Thomas hung 38 on the Thunder, including 27 in the first half. He also put up 26 and 7 assists in a 110-108 win at Minnesota on Wednesday.
So if you want to vote for Isaiah for Most Improved Player (or anyone else, for that matter), tweet me @RoundballDaily!
Do it now!
On to the rankings.
