Nearly two years ago, March of 2012, Volvo decided to cash in on the growing popularity of then New York Knicks point guard Jeremy Lin.
The central figure of the national Linsanity craze chose to sign with Volvo because their vehicles and branding were, as he described it, “high quality but … also affordable and relatable.”
22 months later, the now Houston Rockets guard and the Chinese-owned car company have paired up to create a comical ad campaign centered around a new vehicle-focused fitness program, The Jeremy Lin XC60 Workout.
They have released a video and as well as a PDF poster detailing the workout regimen. The prescribed workout moves trend more on the ridiculous side—either being something with little or no fitness benefit or being something you likely should not try at home.
According to Lin, the XC60 Workout is how he developed his athleticism.
I have always been known for my crazy athleticism and high flying theatrics … check out where I got them from LOL http://t.co/tpDoDWJgxs

It seems fair to attribute his ability to lift the front end of a car to movie magic, though lifting and pulling cars would definitely improve a person’s strength and athletic ability. Some of the other moves, however, seem completely useless.
It’s all in good fun, for the purpose of advertising and selling a car.
