Golden State Warriors coach Mark Jackson isn’t your typical NBA coach.
When he isn’t trying to figure out how to get his team out of offensive slumps from the sideline – the Warriors are surprisingly ranked only 16th in offensive rating – he is at a church teaching the word of God.
He is a pastor off the court, and that makes him a motivator as a person and as a coach. That much is clear when you look at the inspirational job he did during the playoffs last season.
The interesting side of having such a close relationship with your players the way Jackson does is that sometimes, they will find a way to mess around with you. On Friday, Draymond Green posted an instagram video of superstar point guard Stephen Curry victimizing Jackson with what is popularly known around the web as “the dunk cam”.
Jackson saw the video post by Andrew Bogut and had this to say:
RT“@andrewbogut: RT @nedovic1624 http://t.co/SGYyNRM5xg (Here it is)”…I would never do this to my Coach! Lol. Love my guys!!!

That Jackson has such a good humor about it and can carry this kind of relationship with his players makes the Warriors all the more an intriguing and entertaining bunch. He’s also right about one thing: not every player around the league would even think of doing such a thing to their coach. Can you imagine, say, J.R. Smith doing this to Mike Woodson?
