Every event at All-Star Saturday had its moments.
First there was Chris Bosh nailing both his halfcourt shots in the Shooting Stars challenge, and proved once again (as if his Parks and Rec spot wasn’t enough) that he’s one of the league’s most natural entertainers.
Then Damian Lillard, who I can’t believe was a rookie a year ago, won the Skills Challenge with Trey Burke by just one-tenth of a second. Perhaps more impressive was Burke, whose major knock coming out of Michigan was his quickness, sprinting down the court to seal it.
And then Marco Belinelli overcame three airballs in his first round to take the three-point shootout after a tiebreaker with Bradley Beal.
But as always, the showpiece was the Slam Dunk Contest. John Wall took it home for the East with a crazy double-clutch reverse after grabbing the ball off the head of the Wizards’ mascot.
Here’s how the rest of the NBA saw it:
Who y’all got winning?!? Not all about bounce these days… More about creativity!!! #SpriteSlamDunk
