This hasn’t been the best day for the New York Knicks organization from a press standpoint. The surprising series of events started earlier in the day when Metta World Peace announced his contract buyout. That early morning twitter announcement would be followed by a series of tweets from the NBA veterans’ brother, Daniel Artest who took direct aim at the organization.
Among other things Daniel pointed out the apparent dysfunction which has been plaguing the Knicks for some time. While this off court distraction could easily have been disregarded, the fact that the Knicks lost in yet another disappointing fashion to the Atlanta Hawks this evening didn’t help matters.
With tonights loss the Knicks now fall to a record of 21-35, as their underwhelming season continues to plunge in tragic fashion. Strangely enough their lopsided record wasn’t even the most intriguing storyline to come out earlier tonight. That honor goes to James Dolan, the Knicks owner himself.
According to CBS New York, Dolan was the target of a threat that has been deemed aggravated harassment.

The suspect in question is a 19 year old named John Giamella While it may be too early to speculate, one could assume that fans frustrations with the recent moves made by the Knicks, or lack there of, is causing an uproar among the Knicks fan community.
That doesn’t exclude Giamella’s actions, who was brought up on charges in court just this past Friday.Disgruntled fan or not, Giamelli doesn’t seem to have much favor on his side. The report also stated there were photos of Giamelli showing himself naked while holding a gun.
James Dolan has yet to comment on the situation, but ironically Daniel Artest alluded to an incident such as this in one of his previous tweets this morning.

I’m not threatening Dolan on twitter tho. Lol. Some fan is locked up for that. Lol. However. I can say he’s the worst owner in sports.
There is no word on whether Artest’s tweet has any connection to this situation.
