“Pound for pound one of the greatest” reads a tweet from the Philadelphia 76ers.
Countless tweets, emails and Facebook updates have had similar words today for NBA legend Allen Iverson.
The Answer, as he’s known to many, will have his No.3 jersey raised to the rafters Saturday in Philly. To many, he’s one of the greatest point guard’s ever to play.
He left his mark on the game, if it wasn’t a basket or steal, it was an assist or an unexpected rebound. He did it all.
When all was said and done, he finished with 24,368 points, 1,983 steals, 5,624 assists, 11 All-Star appearances, four scoring rings and an MVP award.
Weighing in at 165lbs and six feet tall, he did it all. Just like AI, I’ll keep this short and sweet.
The NBA world and the sports world in general was abuzz for Iverson today, here is what people are saying.
