What is it with fans feeling the urge to rush the court to greet Kyrie Irving during in-game action?
For the second time this season, a fan in Quickens Loans Arena got on the floor and ran after Irving while the game was still going on between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Utah Jazz. The fan was quickly detained by security as the game came to a halt.
After the contest, the newly-acquired center Spencer Hawes shared his thoughts on what went down:
Debating the finishing move Kyrie should have used on the fan that rushed him tonight during the game. #sweetchinmusic in the early lead
— Spencer Hawes (@spencerhawes00) March 1, 2014
By “sweet chin music”, he appears to be referring to this particular move. Needless to say, Hawes was less than amused.
Meanwhile, the Cavaliers are on a two-game winning streak after easily handling the Jazz 99-79 on Friday, led by Irving’s first career triple-double with 21 points, 10 rebounds and 12 assists. They have won seven of their last 10 games and are now just 3 1/2 games within the Atlanta Hawks for the eighth seed of the Eastern Conference.
