The Los Angeles Lakers are 21-41 this season, so the logical thing to do was to believe that things couldn’t get much worse for this bunch.
Then Thursday’s game against the Los Angeles Clippers happened, where they were historically bad.
After a competitive first quarter between the two teams, the Clippers completely broke the game open in the second quarter, leading 73-40 at half time.
The final score? 142-94.
It was the Clippers’ biggest margin of victory ever, and the most lopsided loss in Lakers’ history. The Lakers have now lost the last two games against the Clippers by a combined score of 84 points.
With the game well out of reach, all former Lakers player Rick Fox could do was sit and enjoy a box full of free gum.
Best part about tonight’s game has been the free gum! Good old days #unlimitedgum pic.twitter.com/Yo6ynaBk88

“@SekouSmithNBA: Hey @langwhitaker I guarantee you @Rickafox is somewhere blaming this on Dwight Howard right now. #HTP @NBAonTNT” courtside

It couldn’t have felt very good for the three-time champion to sit courtside to witness a historically terrible game. But hey, free gum!
