With the Los Angeles Lakers long out of the playoff race, Pau Gasol may potentially shut it down for good this season after sitting out the last several games due to severe effects of vertigo.
That doesn’t mean he’s not paying attention to what’s going on around the league – he still has particular interest in the progress of the Memphis Grizzlies because of his brother Marc Gasol. The Grizzlies are trying to fight their way into the playoffs, but the stiff competition in the West has them on the outside looking in, trailing the Phoenix Suns by one game.
On Wednesday, the Grizzlies faced the Miami Heat in a critical game for both teams. Marc Gasol did all he could to help beat the Heat 107-102 with 20 points, 14 rebounds and three assists. The loss put Miami back in second place behind the Indiana Pacers by 1/2 game. Pau Gasol watched the intense game and needless to say, he was rooting for the Grizzlies:
Watching the Grizzlies against the Heat. Big game for both teams. I’m rooting for my former team and my brother, in case you were wondering!
