It has been a tough day for Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors.
Despite a disappointing early exit in the first round of the playoffs, the star point guard and the rest of his teammates wanted to continue to grow and get better under the guidance of the motivating Mark Jackson. That, of course, won’t be the case after Joe Lacob wasted little time in deciding to fire the coach on Tuesday, confirming what many expected may happen if Jackson failed to go far into the playoffs this season.
Curry has a strong Christian background, and that has made his relationship with Jackson – a devoted pastor when he isn’t coaching – a very special one that goes beyond just the game of basketball. He has stated the desire to see Jackson stay with the team throughout the season, and nothing changed when the season ended.
Despite having to accept the tough loss of his coach, though, Curry still took the time to give a special shout-out to Kevin Durant, who won the MVP award for the first time in his career and gave an emotional acceptance speech:
Rough day out her but have to congratulate @KDTrey5 on his well-deserved MVP! Seen him work in offseason & that Amazing year is no surprise

It’s worth noting that Curry also received some recognition in the voting process, ending up with the sixth most votes for the prestigious award.
