The Miami Heat were able to take their home court tonight against the Indiana Pacers as NBA action resumed. The Eastern Conference Finals matchup was another closely contested matchup for the first three quarters of the game, but the defending champions were able to pull ahead. The 99-87 win over Indiana gave Miami a 2-1 lead in their best of seven against the top seeded team.
While there were many contributing factors to the Miami win, players around the NBA took to Twitter to commend the late game heroics of Ray Allen. The All Time 3 point leader and veteran player shot 4 for 4 from long distance tonight. Allen’s peers were impressed with the performance, each acknowledging his contributions in their own ways via social media.

Kendall Marshall who played for the Los Angeles Lakers this past season took note of Allen’s role in the film “He Got Game”. The point guard alluded to the character Jesus Shuttlesworth, which has become a popular real life nickname for Ray Allen over the years.

Anthony Morrow also showed the “He Got Game” star some admiration this evening. As a long time staple of the NBA, Allen has become more than just a veteran favorite around the league, but a cultural one as well.
Ray Allen’s jumpshot looks exactly the same since “He Got Game” #Pure #GreatestShooterEver @nba @ESPNNBA @ESPN_FirstTake

Of course you don’t play as long as Ray Allen without coming across players that were just adolescents during your prime years. Peyton Siva of the Detroit Pistons just happened to be the one to let that bit of information slip tonight.
I use to cheer for Ray Allen when I was in middle school. When he played for the Sonics. he still got it

Though his best years as a professional player are behind him, Ray Allen has proved time again that he can contribute when needed. His performance tonight was just another example of why Miami relies on his incredible shooting, as it has aged just fine over the years. As Miami prepares to get another win against Indiana in Game 4 before going back on the road, you can expect Allen to be crucial to their efforts.
