Thanks in part to Charles Barkley, many fans of the NBA believe that Tim Duncan is the greatest power forward of all-time.
Not that it isn’t necessarily true because Duncan is absolutely one of the best power forwards the game has ever seen, but Barkley has been endorsing that idea for a very long time and even went as far as saying Duncan was better than him.
So what makes Duncan the greatest power forward of all-time? Is it the statistics? The championships? Longevity? Because it’s such a subjective matter, no one truly knows what the criteria is to be the best ever. Of course, this means there isn’t necessarily a right or wrong answer in deciding who’s the best, as long as there’s a reasonable logic behind it.
That being said, not everyone will agree with the notion that Duncan is the best. Metta World Peace is one of them:
Greatest power forward of all time!!! Dennis rodman!!!

It’s not a secret that he was a big fan of Dennis Rodman growing up, so the tweet isn’t a surprise. What we don’t necessarily know is why he believes Rodman is the best power forward of all-time. Presumably, it’s because he took great pride in being a lock-down defender in his heyday, and there wasn’t anyone quite like Rodman on that end of the floor.
Rodman was an afterthought on offense – something you always have to consider when talking about the overall greatness of a player at any given position – but his ability to rebound (seven-time rebounding champion) and hound just about anyone on the floor (two-time DPOY) was unmatched. He also won five championships and did so while playing a significant role for two different teams. It’s a tough argument, but there is an argument to be made. Although World Peace hasn’t elaborated on his thought just yet, he may soon look to do so, as he joins Rant Sports as a guest writer:
