The NBA season has come and gone but there is still plenty to keep it’s athletes busy. This includes Dirk Nowitzki, who was down in Dallas giving back to the community in his own way. The veteran player was able to put on a good cause for the community by hosting his own celebrity ball game for The Hero Foundation.
The Heroes Foundation is a non-profit initiative bringing sports training and competition to children and adults with physical and intellectual disabilities. The event garnered support not only from the local community, but plenty of athletes that came to participate. Several members of the Dallas Mavericks such as Monta Ellis, Devin Harris, as well as former Mavericks teammate Jason Terry. Past and present athletes from other sports also showed their support towards Dirks event, such as Terrell Owens and Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant.
9200 people came. Insane. Sell out. You guys are amazing. Thanks for supporting my baseball game.
