Friday night, while sports fans got a break from the FIFA World Cup and a brief respite from an abundance of basketball news — NBA draft picks, subsequent draft trades and looming free agency chatter, NBA players had an opportunity to entertain on social media, simply being themselves.
Orlando Magic forward Tobias Harris had a fun and engaging conversation with his fans and followers, asking them a series of “would you rather” questions.
Would you rather find true love or 10 million dollars?!
— Tobias Harris (@tobias31) June 28, 2014
Most of the response were for the money. However, Harris couldn’t help but make a general assumption…
All the females would take love lol
— Tobias Harris (@tobias31) June 28, 2014
His assumption, however, wasn’t true. Of the 17 responders that answered the question, all but two chose money. Of the two to choose love, one was a man, the other a woman. There was also a woman who chose the money.
Would you rather fly or read minds?!
— Tobias Harris (@tobias31) June 28, 2014
A little over two-thirds of his responders opted for flight, he sided with them.
I’m flying, reading minds would lead to trouble lol

Would you rather no one show up to your funeral of wedding?!
— Tobias Harris (@tobias31) June 28, 2014
This is an interesting question, potentially more philosophical than the others. It could say a lot about a person and what they might value more, either the friends, and the opportunity to share an important moment in life life with them (wedding) or, perhaps, they value themselves and how their lives are perceived, where a funeral audience proves that your life had some form of lasting impact. Deep.
Funeral for me, invitations didn’t get out on time lol
— Tobias Harris (@tobias31) June 28, 2014
He’d rather have people share in his wedding, and have an empty funeral. Yet, if you think about it, it’s truly a hard choice.
Personally, I could go either way. While I would enjoy the opportunity to celebrate love in my life with all of my family and friends, I would also like to live a life of impact, helping others to be better people, live in love and know God. So, I’d like to hope that in the end I could have lived a life worthy of being celebrated after death.
One of his followers asked him a good “would you rather?”
@tobias31 Would you rather win an NBA Championship or an MVP?

“@NickCocco18: @tobias31 Would you rather win an NBA Championship or an MVP?”—CHIP ALL DAY

His teammates may find it encouraging to see that he favors team accolades over individual awards.
