The Washington Wizards have wasted no time in bolstering up their depth charts after losing Trevor Ariza in free agency to the Houston Rockets. The Wizards have engaged in talks with veteran small forward Paul Pierce to replace the gap left by Ariza.
The news was broken earlier this evening by ESPN’s Marc Stein via Twitter.

Stein also provided details regarding the contract that the Wizards have arranged for Pierce.
ESPN has learned that Pierce will sign a two-year deal with the Wizards at the mid-level exception with a player option entering Year 2

Pierce was traded to the Brooklyn Nets after playing for the Boston Celtics for his first 15 seasons. At 37 years old Pierce is still productive, and his signing provides Washington with strong veteran leadership on a team hoping to build off their playoff success from last season.

Woah! I’m really loving the template/theme of this website.
It’s simple, yet effective. A lot of times it’s challenging to get that “perfect balance” between user
friendliness and visual appearance. I must say you have done a awesome job with this.
In addition, the blog loads super quick for me on Safari.
Excellent Blog!

The Russians just let him go as they didn’t want to pay the luxury taxes.
Pierce was a liability on Defense, but an asset on offense and a good motivator at end of games.
Nets must have felt that with their best scorer Lopez returning and DWill finally being healthy, after ankle surgery, and with Joe Johnson, who does what Pierce does, have enough offense.
It was reported by League Sources that this will have no effect on KG, and he will be back to earn his 12 million.
The problem is that Nets don’t really want KG back, but have no choice, because they let Blatche go.
