Pau Gasol had a tough summer in which he failed to win a medal for Team Spain after being upset in the FIBA World Cup by France, but the big man is ready to move on to bigger things as he prepares for the upcoming season with the Chicago Bulls.
The past couple of seasons have been rough for Gasol from an emotional standpoint, as he tried to understand his role with the Los Angeles Lakers under Mike D’Antoni’s run-and-gun offense. With all the drama out of the way, the center now has a chance to thrive under the tutelage of Tom Thibodeau and play in games that really matter once again. Training camp has been underway this week, and Gasol is loving what he is seeing out of one of the toughest groups in the league so far:
Third day of training completed! I love how hard our team is working. Long journey ahead of us. #NoLetUps #BeHungry #StayHungry

Gasol is likely to play as a power forward this season alongside Joakim Noah in the starting lineup, and the duo should form a tough combination for any team to deal with. If Derrick Rose can rediscover his game this season, the Bulls should have one of the scariest rosters in the league and give the Cleveland Cavaliers a run for their money in the Eastern Conference.
