The great crew for the talk show “Open Court” on NBATV opened up a can of worms when they discussed which 10 players should be added to the current list of 50 Greatest Players in NBA History.
It’s only right that more are added to the prestigious list, and it should continue to happen over a certain period of time, given the number of fantastic players that came after the original list was announced and the unknown players that will rise in the future. That said, who gets in now versus who doesn’t is the subject for a great debate, and that’s just what the TNT crew and company did in this video.
Of course, opinions vary depending on what you value more: the number of championships won or the level of play by any given individual. That was the debate when trying to decide who deserves to be on the list more – Dwyane Wade or Kevin Durant. Wade has won three championships so far in his career, but it’s safe to say that Durant’s overall statistics and where it’s headed probably makes him a more superior individual. Ultimately, they were both added to the new list, dropping Chris Webber in the process.
Here is the list of “Consensus Next 10” that should be added, at least according to the Open Court crew, and the decisions were unanimous: Tim Duncan, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Allen Iverson, Kevin Garnett, Dirk Nowitzki, Dominique Wilkins, Bob McAdoo, Kevin Durant and Dwyane Wade.
Naturally, the debating machine known as Brandon Jennings decided to share his thoughts on the matter:
I heard NBATV had a great discussion about Top 50 greatest players. Who was the 10 they added.

It was all good until Jennings said “don’t count out Harden.” Really, though? This James Harden? Anyway, do feel free to chime in with your thoughts.
