With LeBron James out of the picture, the franchise player on the Miami Heat once again becomes Dwyane Wade for the upcoming season and moving forward.
Wade and Chris Bosh will look to take on a much bigger role to fill the void left by the best player in the game, and both appear ready to do so.
Bosh has looked invigorated in the preseason so far, averaging 18.9 points on 49 percent shooting from the field. Wade hasn’t been the most consistent, averaging just 13.9 points on 50.7 percent shooting, but did show a “flash” of what he used to be in one particular game against the Houston Rockets:
Wade admitted late last week that the new system without James has been an adjustment period for himself, from Sun Sentinel (via Triangle Offense)
“I’m still finding my way with this team and this offense,” he said, as the Heat prepare to play in their exhibition finale against the Houston Rockets. “So I’m still trying to see where I fit in. I know I can get a shot any time I want, but it’s about the quality of it more so than anything. I’m just playing the game and just seeing.”
Trying to figure out which version of Wade we will see this season might drive you crazy because there is no way of knowing whether he has to treat his knees the same way he did last season when he missed more than 20 games for “maintenance” reasons. Time will tell if he is still capable of dominating games the way he once did as the primary option. For now, he is just happy to have gotten by preseason action:
Peace 2 preseason. .our team got better and that’s all wecan ask for…Happy to be Headed home… oh… http://t.co/COn6pSkQIJ
